Undergraduate Course Duration

Our four-year undergraduate degree structure is often referred to as the ‘gold standard’ of university education. No other country in the UK offers this structure, which provides undergraduates with a more well-rounded educational experience which encourages learning outside your chosen degree subject.

Summer School

Scotland offers a wide array of summer school options at our institutions all over the country. These programmes help provide the perfect opportunity to get a taster of studying in Scotland. With up to 17 hours of daylight in Scotland at the height of the summer months, you’re also still left with plenty of time to get out and explore the rest of Scotland after a day of study.

Exchange Options

We love welcoming international exchange students and nearly all of Scotland’s universities have agreements in place for undergraduate student exchanges. Study exchanges in Scotland are offered by many institutions all over the world and you should check with your own university if they have an agreement in place.

Research Programmes

If you're looking to make a difference in your work then studying in Scotland is the right choice for you. Every one of our 19 universities undertakes research of world-leading quality, with 86% of all research conducted in Scotland judged to have an 'outstanding' or 'very considerable' impact.
